Moonlapse Vertigo by Opeth [link]
Kept warm by the light of the lantern
Lost sight of everything tonight
My presence blacken their patterns
A pock in the healthy and calm
Their scorn behind your back
No trace of reverence left
My promise would put them down
Immemorial fire in their eyes
I would perish at the given signal
At the slightest touch from my soul
Tainted prophet in flesh
For all the plagued and lost
Decision in stalemate
Surprised me with its voice
Dripping sin
Dare to feel death at hand
Through the forest came the morn
Across the leafy pathway
Their deeds smeared in blood
The council of the cross
For all to behold
The pest through the air
Must have sensed my coming
Lashing out at the poor
With despise for squalor
Fading time to leave from here
In pallor escape from the end
I turned away my eyes
She would be safe and firm
And less to fulfil my task
Nothing of this is in vain
And saved from the past taken away from stifling grace
One of the many amazing Opeth tracks. This painting has taken me months to complete, kinda lost me enthuasim for it and painting in general, but getting it back.
This started off as a photomanip i did of the tree/statue in the middle and then i got wasted and i spent another hour drawing the rest of it, partly frommy head and partyly from bits and pieces of tress etc, i had a few drinks one nite and decided 3 moons would look cool, i originall started painting it just with ink and water but id just finished painting a motorbike helmet with car paint so i thought id try painting onto cardboard with it and it turned out pretty sweet. The island in the sea was kinda based from a movie i saw years ago, the dark crystal, love that movie.
A1 in size, once again i dont do alot of totally original stuff so im fairly happy with how this turned out, things could be better but then again they always could.

I recognized the song title too, that's what made me click on it
...and I was rewarded with a great piece of art to look at.
Awesome work, I love that sepia color!
